Experience Requirements
Must have been licensed as an active real estate salesperson or broker for at least 24 months within the 48-month period immediately preceding application.
Alternative Pathways:
- 18 months if already holding an active broker license in another state (upon written request)
- 24 months of acceptable real estate-related experience (upon commission approval)
Experience requirement may be waived under specific circumstances with commission approval.
Education Requirements
Complete 60 hours of real estate education, with 45 hours being the commission-developed Broker Pre-License course, from an accredited school within 36 months of applying for the exam.
Required Courses:
- 45-hour AREC Broker Pre-License Education course (mandatory)
- 15 hours of additional approved real estate education
Must score 90% or higher on end-of-course exam to receive certificate of completion.
