Experience Requirements
2 years as Sales Agent for Associate Broker, then 2 years as Associate Broker for Designated Broker (4 years total)
Alternative Pathways:
Experience must be within 5 years immediately preceding application date.
Education Requirements
Maine has three license levels. Sales Agent to Associate Broker requires 60 hours. Associate Broker to Designated Broker requires 50 additional hours.
Required Courses:
- Associate Broker Course (60 hours) - for upgrade from Sales Agent
- Designated Broker Course (50 hours) - for upgrade from Associate Broker
- Documented Field Experience Form required
Hours from Sales Agent course cannot count toward Designated Broker requirements. Must pass course with 75% minimum.
