Complete 40 hours of pre-licensing education: at least 32 hours classroom or real-time live online, with at most 8 hours of other distance education.

The exam must be taken within 6 months of the course start.

Retake Policy: New fee each attempt ($34 national only, $32 state only for salesperson); a passed portion carries over. If both portions are not passed within 6 months of the first exam or after 8 attempts, the course and whole exam must be retaken.

Type: Name-based New Hampshire State Police criminal records check (notarized release), plus reports from any other jurisdiction with a conviction

New Hampshire recognizes active licensees from any jurisdiction who passed national and state exams through a statutory recognition path (RSA 331-A:11-a); they take only the New Hampshire state portion. No fixed state roster applies.
