Experience Requirements

Must have been actively licensed in Georgia as a salesperson or associate broker for a minimum of 3 of the previous 5 years

Alternative Pathways:

  • Can take the broker exam after 2 years of active licensure

Experience must be actively working as a licensee in Georgia.

Education Requirements

Complete a 60-hour Commission-approved Broker Prelicense Course including a proctored exam at an approved school.

Community association managers must complete an additional 75 classroom hours in approved courses.

36 hours of continuing education every 4 years. 3 hours must be in Georgia License Law. Effective July 1, 2025, brokers must complete 18 hours of broker-specific CE topics including training licensees, supervising licensees, reviewing brokerage agreements, or managing a firm.

Reciprocity Agreements

Georgia has reciprocity agreements with other states.

Georgia has reciprocal agreements with several states. Non-resident brokers licensed by reciprocity are exempt from the broker CE requirement.
