Requirements, fees, and steps to upgrade to broker
Experience Requirements
Minimum 2 years experience as a licensed salesperson or associate broker employed by a real estate business
Alternative Pathways:
- Part-time equivalent under the Broker Applicant Hardship Provision
Must have high school diploma, GED, or homeschool documentation.
Education Requirements
Complete 60 additional broker hours (two 30-hour courses) beyond the 96-hour salesperson pre-licensing education.
Required Courses:
- Two additional 30-hour broker courses (60 hours) beyond the salesperson education
Cannot repeat a pre-licensing course already used for the salesperson license.
