Oklahoma Real Estate Agent License

Complete a 90-hour pre-licensing salesperson course approved by OREC. Education expires within 3 years of completion.

Courses can be completed online or in a traditional classroom setting. A separate 45-hour post-license education requirement must be completed within the first license year.

Retake Policy: Only failed portions are retaken; $75 exam fee per attempt, with a one-year authorization. Remote-proctored attempt restrictions differ from test-center rules.

Fee Breakdown

Listed fees for the provisional path: application $35 + exam $75 + provisional license $110 + screening $60 = $280. Full Sales Associate issuance is $220 after post-licensing education. Excludes course tuition, so this is not a complete startup cost.

License Renewal

Effective 6/1/2025, full resident sales associates complete 30 CE hours every 3 years (13 required and 17 elective). Provisional Sales Associates must complete 45 hours of post-licensing education before their one-year license expiration.

License Reciprocity

Conditional reciprocity is available under Oklahoma's nonresident agreements with AL, AR, IA, LA, MD, NE, ND, and SD; eligibility depends on the applicant's home-state license. Email help@orec.ok.gov.
