Requirements, fees, and steps to upgrade to broker
Experience Requirements
At least 2 years of active licensure as a sales associate or provisional sales associate within the last 5 years
Alternative Pathways:
Supervisory transaction evidence may be required depending on the pathway; a universal 10-transaction rule and a point-waiver alternative are not certified here.
Education Requirements
Complete a 90-hour broker course from an approved provider. Principal, Managing, or Branch Brokers need an additional 15-hour Broker-in-Charge course.

The 15-hour Broker-in-Charge course applies only to managing, branch, or proprietor (principal) broker paths, not to the broker associate license modeled here.

Retake Policy
Only failed portions are retaken, within a one-year authorization. A 2-for-1 discount is available when scheduling both portions on the same order.

Conditional reciprocity for brokers with 2+ years experience under Oklahoma's nonresident agreements with AL, AR, IA, LA, MD, NE, ND, and SD; eligibility depends on the applicant's home-state license. Email help@orec.ok.gov.
