Experience Requirements
Must have an active salesperson license for at least 24 of the last 30 months
Alternative Pathways:
- Active salesperson license in Missouri or another state for 24 of last 30 months
Licensed attorneys with an active salesperson license can have experience requirement waived.
Education Requirements
Complete a 48-hour pre-exam broker course from a Missouri-accredited real estate school before taking the broker examination.

- 48-hour pre-exam broker course from an MREC-accredited school
Licensed attorneys are exempt from education requirements. Application must be submitted within 6 months of completing the 48-hour course.

MREC publishes a $40.50 fingerprint charge; current vendor checkout was not independently verified. Broker applicants with a valid salesperson license and prior acceptable Missouri fingerprints may be exempt from repeating them.

Reciprocity Agreements
An applicant with a current active out-of-state broker license and 24 of the preceding 30 months of active salesperson or broker experience may qualify by passing the Missouri state broker examination and supplying a current license-history certification.
