Requirements, fees, and steps to upgrade to broker
Experience Requirements
At least 2 years as licensed real estate salesperson within the 4 years immediately preceding application
Alternative Pathways:
- A degree in real estate (Associate Broker only)
Must provide licensing history from every state where you hold or have held a real estate license.
Education Requirements
Complete Broker I, Broker II, and the Wyoming Law course. Responsible Brokers also need the Broker Management course.

- Wyoming Broker Management Course (8 hours; Responsible Broker only)
Total hours are not certified: the Commission outlines set a 30-hour minimum for Broker I and II, while the statute refers to 60 cumulative hours. Out-of-state brokers need the Wyoming Law course and Broker II only.

National portion: 80 scored + 5 pretest questions, 2.5 hours. State portion: 50 scored + 5-10 pretest questions, 1.5 hours.

Retake Policy
Retake only the failed portion ($80 per portion at a test center, $90 online); wait 24 hours to reschedule. The failed portion must be passed within 6 months or both portions are retaken.

Reciprocity Agreements
Wyoming does not have full reciprocity. Out-of-state brokers must complete Wyoming Law Course, Broker II Course, and pass Wyoming state broker exam.
